Originally named Jetstar Motors, the garage, now service centre was established in 1984. Starting out as a one man operation. During this exciting time Gerard Lee driving around the city providing help in keeping cars on the road. This was pre NCT and pre boom if you had a car it was for at least 10 years and cars were not half as reliable as they are now. Gerard Lee Motors continued to build up his relationship with his customers. They appreciated reliable and helpful service. Gerard was ambitious to grow, so decided to set up a permanent base in Sandyford industrial estate. The unit he moved into while not a ideal set up it was a start for bigger and better things to come. Continue to build on customer loyalty and great word of mouth recommendations. In 1989 he was out helping a customer when he noticed a building for sale in Ashgrove Industrial Estate. It was ideal for what he was looking for with enough room for 4 ramps for cars and Vans. He immediately went to the Agent and discussed the cost. When he recover from the shock at the price of the building (1989) he put on his best suit and went to a very understanding Bank Manager in Blackrock who agreed to lend the money to purchase the building and fit it out to his specification. After a great launch party Gerard went about building his company's reputation as a provider of affordable quality motor service which you can trust a company where you know your car or commercial will be well looked after. Like any company it has seen many changes both in car design and the mechanics of cars. During all this change Gerard Lee has been keeping up with the changes and now from Jetstar comes Gerard Lee Motors Ltd. Gerard Lee Motors now has 7 employees including three fully qualified motor technicians and a apprentice, a office administrator and a stock and service manager all under the guidance of Gerard Lee.
