Dr. Kauffman offers high-quality dentistry to the geriatric population who are often neglected due to their limited ability or inability to leave their homes. As the percentage of older Americans has rapidly expanded in recent decades, one of the major challenges has been providing access to adequate dental care for this demographic. Good oral health is imperative for older citizens and an important part of a healthy aging process. Dr. Kauffman is currently the Director of Geriatric Dental Care at three local nursing homes, lectures on Geriatrics at Penn Dental Medicine, and is the founder of the Dental LIFE program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Dr. Kauffman and her work with the elderly have been featured in a number of well renowned national publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Penn Gazette, and ABC 7 News in New York.
