About German Seaman's Mission Wilhelmshaven - Deutsche Seemannsmission Wilhelmshaven

With the development of the german deepwater port in Wilhelmshaven in 1959, our local association was founded in Wilhelmshaven. After several renovations, the sailor's home in Hegelstrasse 11 was finally opened in 1992 and since then has been a second home for sailors. We are a registered non profit organization, which currently consists of a Board Members, a Property Management, an Office Staff, Ship Visitors and Ship Supervisors. We also have more than 100 members. Together, we do a loving work for the Seamen's Mission to provide them a in shore service, such as helping themselves with any city service or their families with anything possible. Our goal is to facilitate any matter outside of the ship and to give them a second home in Wilhelmshaven. Our ship visitors do a daily visit to all ships that are dock in Wilhelmshaven. We offer them from daily newspaper in their own languages to a nice 20 minutes talk, making their days better and joyful. Our house in the City is equiped with fully decoreded and confortable beds, internet, soft drinks and very relaxing areas. The sailor's mission is always committed to give them the better experience in land, these include, for example, the round trip by minibus to the Seamen's Mission House and to the city. Depending on their schedule on board our ship visitors are able to organize small tours through the Frisian region. To perform our incredible work, we are more then glad to recieve any assistence and Donation. Every little contribution counts. You can also become part of the German Seamen's Wilhelmshaven family with an annual contribution of € 20 and be one of our members.
