About Get Real Youth Services

Who we are Get Real Youth Services (GRYS) are dedicated to providing mentoring, support and guidance to children and young people; who have found themselves involved in or affiliated with gangs and or submerged/on the brink of a life of crime. We work alongside services that are already actively helping young people including social services, young offenders and schools. Through mentoring, support and guidance, it is our ultimate aim for young people to feel empowered and confident to achieve their personal goals and thrive in being the best that they can be. What we do We believe that it is important to tackle and address factors and real issues that can lead young people to make the wrong choices and have a negative outlook on life. Factors such as having a difficult home life, deprivation and living in a deprived neighbourhood, lack of opportunities and positive role models; can lead many children and young people to making damaging life choices. Mentoring We provide an innovative approach to mentoring and engaging young people. During the eight weeks mentoring programme, we support young people by… Helping them to overcome issues and challenges that they’re facing Identifying their strengths and interests Support them in setting goals and targets that will have a positive impact on their future Provide them with networking opportunities and experiences to achieve their future aspirations. Support Get Real Youth Services understand the importance of supporting young people holistically and are therefore dedicated to helping both young people and their families. So as mentors, we will be working through issues and supporting the young person and their family, as well as, providing 1:1 support for the young person. Guidance Get Real Youth Services specialise in working alongside social services, young offenders, schools and other organisations that support young people and their families.
