This has led to biased design in new technologies, even though women are among half of the population. Our mission is to inspire more women to enter the field of technology, to build an environment where those women can flourish, and to create opportunities for more women to ascend into leadership roles. getWITit fosters an environment that inspires diverse thought within technology by building communities that are passionate about promoting change. We aspire to cultivate local community engagement so that women can sustain, excel, and advance in technology careers. Our chapters are created for like-minded individuals to share ideas and create support systems through local events with the goal of igniting new relationships. The foundation of our model is centered around the annual chapter conferences that provide new technology content while promoting leadership and the inclusion of women in technology.
