Great Harwood Community Association (GHCA) Great Harwood Community Association (GHCA) is a community-driven organisation dedicated to empowering young people and strengthening local communities in Blackburn, Hyndburn, and beyond. Our mission is to provide youth development, employability support, mental well-being initiatives, and community engagement opportunities that create lasting positive change. What We Do: ✔ Youth Development & Leadership – Providing mentorship, skills training, and volunteering opportunities to help young people gain confidence and real-world experience. ✔ Employability & Skills Support – Offering CV writing workshops, interview preparation, career guidance, and pathways into education, training, and apprenticeships. ✔ Mental Health & Wellbeing – Running fitness and resilience sessions, group discussions, and one-to-one check-ins to promote confidence, discipline, and a positive mindset. ✔ Community Engagement – Partnering with local businesses, organisations, and volunteers to tackle social issues, reduce antisocial behaviour, and create safer, more connected communities. At GHCA, we believe in “For the Youth, By the Youth”—ensuring that our programs are led by young people, for young people, giving them a voice in shaping their own future.
