Alessandro Gherardi’s passion for shirts dates back to the early Seventies. He started in his beloved Pieve Santo Stefano, where he was born and where a few years later he set up his own company, which quickly became a world leader in the shirting industry. His fast ascension is a challenge won through the perfect balance between high technology and craftsmanship. Today Gherardi produces and ships all over the World more than 500.000 shirts per Year: 250.000 for its own Brands, 50.000 as Made to Measure and 200.000 as private label for the most exclusive European fashion brands. Alessandro Gherardi also invested in high technology: «We possibly use Italian machinery, or else we choose international master companies like Toyota which built a totally computerized warehouse - a real masterpiece of information engineering» Wearing a shirt by Alessandro Gherardi is a pleasure, since its ergonomics naturally covers the body contour with no constriction. It's a second skin that caresses the body without forcing it, thanks to the anatomical construction of the sleeves: small gestures of everyday life are also facilitated by tailoring of collars.
