About Gifts Giving Back
Books are the best. They take you to faraway kingdoms, magical lands and throughout space and time. They introduce you to new ideas, deepen connections with the things you love and inspire imagination. But not everyone has access to books outside of the classroom. Inspired by a third grade teacher encouraging her students to read and communicate more, Gifts Giving Back fosters a love for reading, one book at a time. According to long-term study by the Annie E. Casey Foundation 88 percent of students who failed to earn a high school diploma were struggling readers in third grade. Together with your help, we can change that statistic. With a special emphasis on Title 1 schools in Winchester City, Gifts Giving Back is a book gifting program that delivers high quality books to students to develop the critical early foundation and skills which young children need to be successful in life.
