About Gilroy Garlic Festival Association
The Gilroy Garlic Festival is the world's greatest summer food festival — three full days of great garlicky food, live entertainment, cooking competitions, and family fun. The event is held annually on the last full weekend of July. Founded in 1979, this event is hosted by over 4,000 community volunteers working to benefit local schools, charities, and non-profit organizations. Since 1979, the Gilroy Garlic Festival Association has donated over $12 million back to the local community—and has helped make Gilroy a popular year-round destination for garlic lovers from around the world. The Gilroy Garlic Festival Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its mission is to provide benefits to local worthy charities and non-profit groups by promoting the community of Gilroy through a quality celebration of Garlic. A year-round paid staff of three supports a volunteer Board of Directors, with a new President elected each year, and over 50 committee chairs. The office is located in Gilroy, California.
