About my vineyard and Zinfandel wine... Girl On The Hill is a boutique vineyard developed in 2001 and located on Mt Vaca of the Blue Ridge Mountains making my vineyard the highest elevation in Solano County at 2620 feet. This elevation, our eastern exposure and moderate temperatures from neighboring Napa County creates an extremely unique micro climate. You will enjoy a 100% estate grown Zinfandel from a certified clone grafted onto an original California root stock from the Frank Evangelho vineyard in Contra Costa County. This root stock dates back to approximately 1889 making the vines perfectly suited for our hilly and dry environment. The unique combination of location and history is one that simply can not be duplicated! About my lavender... High atop Mount Vaca on the border of California’s Napa and Solano Counties, Girl on the Hill lovingly tends to naturally grown lavender plants in order to create one-of-a-kind eye and neck pillows, dream pillows and sachets filled with the fragrant dried flowers of this miraculous plant. Grown in accordance with the USDA standards for organic farming, the lavender is planted, tended, harvested, dried and cleaned in small batches by myself. Girl on the Hill mixes the lavender buds with flaxseed and hand fills pillows and sachets sewn from fabrics sourced on my travels, like cozy cashmere, organic cotton, and luxurious charmeuse silk, duponi silk and silk brocade.
