About Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road
Girls run this world––Girl Scouts fuels their dreams. As the preeminent leadership development organization for girls, Girl Scouts of Kentucky's Wilderness Road offers enrichment and experiential opportunities that prepare Girls for a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success. Girls are encouraged to explore their ambitions, chase innovation, and cultivate change as they learn to empower themselves through discovery, integrity, and individuality. GSKWR provides girls the opportunity to develop unique passions, build community, and unleash their potential. Through focusing on our four primary pillars, STEM, Outdoor Adventure, Life Skills and Entrepreneurship, girls develop confidence. Along with this growth, girls can obtain their Gold Award––the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. From building a robot to creating community gardens that combat food insecurity, the Gold Award is a stepping stone to a lifetime of success. By providing programming that challenges and equips girls to conquer life’s barriers, we empower girls to be their best selves. Influential. Radiant. Perceptive. Headquartered in Lexington, KY, with over 8,500 girl members, GSKWR serves 66 counties in Northeast and Central Kentucky and 1 Ohio County. The Council has 3,000 committed volunteers and 40 employees. We offer programming for girls from kindergarten through their senior year of high school. GSKWR is largely reliant on strategic business partnerships and individual giving for its ongoing success. The council offers donors and corporate partners customized opportunities that prioritize impact, ultimately helping girls uncover their full potential.
