About Girls on the Run Hudson Valley

Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in grades 3-8. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness. Girls on the Run Hudson Valley is a council of Girls on the Run International, proudly serving girls throughout Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester Counties. Since our council’s inception in 2012, we have unlocked the power and potential of 17,000+ participants and made a lasting impact on our community through participant-led service projects. Each year, more than 3,000 participants joyfully cross the finish line at our GOTR 5K events!
