About Girls on the Run Western Montana

Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 in Charlotte, NC that offers physical activity-based positive youth development programming to girls in 3rd-8th grade. Girls on the Run Flathead Valley was established in 2016 to serve Flathead County. In 2020, we expanded our territory to include Lake County. In the spring of 2023, we officially became Girls on the Run Western Montana and will have expansion news coming soon! At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained volunteer coaches use our research-based curricula to teach foundational lessons through dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, participants develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. Our program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.
