About GiSC - Grower Information Services Cooperative

Grower Information Services Cooperative (GiSC) was formed to assist GiSC members with the collection, retention, and analysis of INFORMATION. The guiding principle of GiSC is that growers produce the information related to their operations, and growers should have ownership of the information. This means control over who may access the information, and how the information may be used. In addition GiSC is assisting the growers in gaining business insights utilizing the grower’s information and data. There is a growing consensus that this data is valuable, but its greatest value is helping our members understand how they can improve their farm’s profitability. GiSC has at its core, AgHub, a collaborative platform to collect field level data to bring deeper analysis and more complete solutions to the grower. It is the system at the center of bringing value to growers as they gather, share, and get the most from their data. This Collaborative Platform will help build a grower centric eco-system. As a part of its vision to bring real solutions to its members, GiSC has made a commitment to search for partners that hold our core principles dear. We have made substantial strides by partnering with Main Street Data and it best of class data science involving yield analysis and benchmarking in corn, soybeans, and wheat. This is accomplished with its core product: The Validator. In addition to teaming with MSD, GiSC is collaborating with IBM as a business partner to bring world class weather and predictive analytics from remote sensing to the fields and at the farmer’s fingertips. Currently, there is a debate regarding how grower data should be utilized. By joining GiSC, growers are building an organization with the authority, credibility and capability to establish and protect their digital rights in the data and information related to their agriculture operations because it is governed by you and Growers just like you.
