About Glasgow Open House Arts Festival

Glasgow Open House Arts Festival is a non-profit art-led organisation that aims to improve the ‘accessibility’ of the art world in three main ways: offering opportunities for artists from diverse backgrounds, expanding community engagement with art, and providing new meaningful ‘spaces’ to engage with art and ideas. What is unique about the festival is the creation of a platform for artists, both emerging and established, that aims to remove art from conventional exhibition spaces and embed it within the very fabric of the city: its tenements, disused buildings, wastelands, and other unusual spaces. By doing so GOHAF hopes to bring together members of the community and support them to engage with the arts both as artists and as visitors, offering a new perspective of the city and of the ‘art world’ to its inhabitants.
