About Glasgow's Golden Generation
Glasgow’s Golden Generation (GGG) has proudly supported older adults across Glasgow since 1948. GGG provides day services at our community centres in Battlefield and Woodside, where older adults can enjoy daily a hot, three course, nutritious meal and coordinated activities designed to cultivate community connections and promote optimum social, physical and mental health outcomes. Our Befriending Service, in collaboration with the Sky Time to Care project, supports some of he hardest to reach older adults to stay socially connected. The service offers either weekly calls from a Sky Time to Care volunteer or home visits from a GGG volunteer befriender, both offering companionship and meaningful social interaction. Each centre now boasts a dedicated Digital Inclusion Hub in partnership with the Sky Up project. These hubs offer older adults the opportunity to access computers, tablets, and the internet, along with guidance on how to use digital technology. The service also offers one-on-one support and group sessions led by knowledgeable staff and Sky volunteers, where older adults can learn essential digital skills to stay connected with loved ones, access online services, and safely explore the internet. We also provide expert benefits guidance. With over 50 years of combined experience, our Welfare Officers assist clients in navigating the complex benefits system, ensuring they access the benefits and entitlements they need. GGG’s work is made possible through the generosity of our supporters. Get in touch to learn how you can help make a difference. Stay connected!
