Glasgow Wood produce ethically handcrafted furniture from reclaimed timber in our South Street workshop. We offer a wide range of indoor & garden furniture alongside a bespoke furniture and design service to meet all your home, business and community requirements. We provide a sustainable alternative to waste wood disposal and offer a competitively priced wood collections service. We also sell reclaimed timber for your own projects at our South Street timber yard if you're looking to construct yourself. Established in 2007, Glasgow Wood is a Social Enterprise and Charity, committed to preventing wood from going to landfill. GWR collect wood waste from across the city and find creative ways to reuse and recycle this valuable natural resource. Most of the wood we use would have ended either as wood chips or decomposing in landfill sites releasing greenhouse gases and contributing to climate change. Instead we produce high quality items from reclaimed timber and in doing so create employment, volunteering and training opportunities. Our BIG Lottery funded training programme Making Wood Work provides wood work training and supports people to make progress towards employment. We are helping people to develop confidence and self-esteem and learn a range of useful transferable skills that will help them to get back into paid work. GW are part on a nationwide Network of Community Wood Recyclers (NCWRP) our aims are to save resources by reusing and recycling wood and to create jobs and opportunities for people who are further away from the labour market.
