About GledeGaard
GledeGaard is a privately run farm with activity areas, trails, walking/bike paths, obstacle & parkour course, fire pits and cabin/camping space. The farm produces food through permaculture design which allows nature to cultivate and develop the land. This creates a self-sustaining ecosystem that optimizes natural resources. GledeGaard is also a no-harm farm, where the creatures sharing the land are not used as food, but to symbiotically provide resources to the benefit of each species. In addition, the farm runs on minimalistic green energy systems. GledeGaard is a location to incorporate art, imagination and expression into the landscape. The farm will have art pieces throughout the property. The name GledeGaard was chosen as the purpose of this farm estate is to contribute to the Happy Planet Index (HPI) started by the NEF (New Economics Foundation). Glede- means ‘joy‘ in Norwegian and –Gaard is an old Norwegian word for ‘farm‘. Loosely translated, GledeGaard means HappyFarm. The goal of HPI is to increase happiness and well-being while also reducing or eliminating our ecological footprint.
