About Glimmers Mental Health Training

Our goal is to support organisations and communities, and the people who use, work and reside within them, to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. At Glimmers, we specialise in addressing the mental health elephant in the room. Of course, this elephant can sometimes seem imperceptible, even invisible at times or, unfortunately, even compromised - concealed behind a mask of warm smiles, persona or roaring laughter. It can, and does, hide in plain sight. Historically, mental health is a difficult topic to talk about. Like the first two rules of Fight Club, I grew up believing that we shouldn't talk about it! But this isn't Fight Club. This is a different kind of fight, with altogether different rules - we CAN, and we SHOULD, talk about it. Awarded by the FAA, accredited by the SQA, SCQF and RCF, and regulated by OFQUAL, our mental health training programmes are designed to equip us with the necessary skills and tools to discuss mental health effectively, to help raise awareness, to know how to start and structure conversations, to recognise when someone might have poor mental health and how to support ourselves and others. Remember, everyone on this planet - past, present and future - had and has mental health. Ironically, despite how stigmatised mental health can be, we are all global citizens of this mental health community. Poor mental health and mental ill-health, and the need for support, is nothing to be ashamed of, so, together, lets drag this elephant out of the dark and into the light.
