About Global Action Italy
The not-for-profit association “Global Action” was established on 7 October 2016 in Rome by a group of four people coming from four professional fields. The association takes advantage of the fields of expertise of its founders to develop and grow. The staff of the association is made up of other professionals (individuals working mainly in the fields of law, international relations, languages, humanitarian aid, institutional representation). The association has also created a scientific board made up of experts in various fields. These professionals will be participating in events, seminars and conferences organized by the association on the topics they are experts in and will provide the association with mentoring in the programs. OUR OBJECTIVE Pursuing civic education at a GLOBAL level. OUR VISION We have a very clear vision of the world: a world where not only schools and families are charged with “educational” tasks, but they share the pleasure - not the burden - with private associations. OUR MISSION We are moved by very simple reasons: 1) Because we were students and we know what students’ needs are in Italy and abroad. We put together all the best experiences we have lived when we were younger in our projects; 2) Because students should not need to travel too far to work on UN-based programs (an average of 7 days spent abroad) and they should not have to spend thousands of euros (an average of € 3,000 in our experience): we aim to FREE educational experiences; 3) Because we want to raise a new generation of well-informed people and we want to provide them with the instruments to build their informed knowledge: all our programs include contacts with the real representatives of countries being studied; 4) Because we want to apply the real rules of procedure of the UN to all our programs: MUN organizers in the past have always applied re-arranged and sometimes invented rules in their simulated versions of the UN committees.
