About Global Capital Allocation Project
The Global Capital Allocation Project (GCAP) is a research lab focused on international macroeconomics and finance. Our goal is to shed light on the most pressing global economic challenges to improve international economic policy. Well-functioning global markets deliver prosperity and stability, and our work identifies areas of friction and helps design policies that improve global outcomes. We focus on the biggest challenges in global markets, such as U.S.-China trade and financial relations, economic security, the role of reserve currencies, regulating offshore tax havens, and financial stability. Our primary goal is to produce cutting edge research and make it impactful in practice. GCAP partners with policymakers worldwide, providing advice on how to incorporate our insights into policy to improve the world we live in. Our approach is independent, driven by data and facts, and we take a global view on crucial policy issues. Based at Stanford Graduate School of Business, co-directed by Professors Matteo Maggiori (Stanford GSB) and Jesse Schreger (Columbia Business School).
