About Global Christian University

Since 1971, Global Christian University (formerly Northern California Bible College) has been providing Christian education in the Spirit and truth. We are nationally accredited and offer AA and BA degrees in Biblical Studies and an MA in Biblical and Practical Theology. Many of our classes meet live in the evenings in the Bay Area or online. For the first 28 years, Global Christian Universityaimed to serve only the needs of the greater San Francisco Bay Area. A major shift in purpose occurred in 1999, when GC went online (globalcu.edu) and developed an extensive "off-site distance-learning center." Our distance-learning center has been designed to accommodate working students who face time and distance restrictions. With many of our courses available online, students can study at the time and place of their convenience. Students driving to work can listen to lectures, knowing that extensive faculty notes accompany each course. Self-pacing allows students to work at their own speed, while still holding to a defined schedule of completion and regular interaction via email with the instructor. Classes have been designed to avoid tedious memorization and to promote creative thinking. Throughout the past 45 years, we have tried to maintain an evangelical yet Spirit-filled approach to the study of the Bible.
