About Global Education Collaborative

The Global Education Collaborative (GEC) is a student-led organization whose mission is to empower the next generation of comparative and international education scholars and to expand the benefits of quality education, in all its forms, to all people. We accomplish this through three main avenues: conducting and publishing research, collaborating with global stakeholders, and hosting professional and community building events. Housed in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA, our mission is for the GEC to serve as the Southern California hub for current international education students to collaborate, share, and support a diverse range of research issues relating to comparative and international education. As a student-led organization, GEC serves as a training center for students interested in comparative and international education issues by facilitating opportunities for professional and academic advancement by bringing students and established scholars together for mentorship, support, and collaboration. The Center's goals are to improve education, develop cutting edge research on international education issues, and provided development opportunities for students to take on positions where they can influence the world for good. As a student-run organization, GEC relies on the commitment and dedication of the entire UCLA community to attain its goals.
