GEA aims to facilitate a knowledge-sharing and business development platform that promotes worldwide cooperation to expand market access and support policy advocacy. Founded in Switzerland, a strategic and neutral hub for international associations, GEA seeks to unite stakeholders from every segment of the ethanol value chain on a unified global platform. ++++ We are proud to announce the launch of the Ethanol Marine Fuel Sector Initiative (first working group), an innovative effort aimed at developing commercial pathways for ethanol as a low-emission marine fuel. Ethanol is emerging as a compelling low-emission alternative marine fuel. It is not intended to replace methanol, but rather to complement it. With regional differences in production and supply, ship operators can optimize their fuel type selection based on local availability and pricing. This enhances both supply security, flexibility and emission resilience across global trade routes. We invite stakeholders from across the industry, including shipowners, asset financiers, engine manufacturers, classification societies, shipyards, ethanol producers, marine fuel traders, and supply chain companies, to join us as (founding) members of this transformative Demand Creation initiative.
