Global Family Community Centre (GFCC) is a non-profit organization that strives to improve and empower people from diverse communities by lightening the financial burden of food security and providing access to services for the whole family. We believe that food is a basic human right and strive to provide it for our clients. We also offer other services such as education, counselling, job training and more. We believe that everyone deserves to live with dignity and without fear of hunger. We are committed to helping our neighbours in need by providing food and other services and education about healthy eating habits. Our team works daily to provide opportunities for families and individuals who have experienced food insecurity or are currently struggling with it. At GFCC, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all; regardless of gender, religion, and sexual orientation.GFCC works to provide access to appropriate food and resources for those in need and to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in all aspects of our work. We believe everyone deserves access to healthful food and necessities to live a full life, regardless of any aspect of their identity. We believe that food is a human right. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for users of the Centre, volunteers, donors, agency members, and staff. This means: Providing services that understand the diverse needs of our Mississauga neighbours/Offering programs that are accessible and respectful/Treating all those who use the services of the Centre with dignity We recognize that food insecurity affects people from all walks of life, and our goal is to address this issue through a lens of equity and social justice. GFCC is committed to using our platform to advocate on behalf of our neighbours living in poverty to all levels of government to push forward long-term, systemic change to the root cause of food security & poverty.
