About Us: Global Investors at Berkeley is a student-run long-only investment club, bringing a universal perspective of investing to Cal. We invest in six countries: India, Hong Kong, England, Canada, Brazil, and the United States; a carefully articulated portfolio of countries allowing the members to gain exposure from both developing and developed markets while exploring a plethora of varying cultures. GIB has an education program, along with fund management opportunities. Our mission is to bring forth an international approach to learning investing. We base our strategies on fundamental investing concepts and provide a multi-continent standpoint for our members to traverse the investing world. We aspire to expand our members’ horizons by teaching about different countries’ companies, laws, cultures, and governments. Through a calibrated combination of both theoretical and practical learning, our members will gain immense knowledge about the world and its inner workings. Our vision is to beat the global market and produce returns higher than the world average. GIB will use the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) World Index as a means of comparison, and portfolio performance. We strive to provide an increasing number of resources for our members to learn from every year, and build an extensive alumni network for students interested in global investing.
