About Global Markets Group
The Global Markets Group (GMG) at the University of Virginia is a McIntire School of Commerce-affiliated student organization that actively manages a $10,000 global equities portfolio. Weekly meetings feature discussions relating to current events in international financial markets, updates on our stock portfolio, and skill-building workshops for members to learn the basics of equity valuation and industry research. GMG strives to help students from all backgrounds learn about investing and develop the tools helpful to launching a career in finance. Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization, which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.
