Global Wines was born in 1990, initially called Dão Sul, with the aim of being the biggest and the best company in the oldest Portuguese region of still wines: Dão region. Once this goal was achieved, the company started to reach out for other dreams and adventures, in different regions and countries. Today, Global Wines is Dão's leading company. We are one of the oldest producers and owner of the largest contiguous extension of vineyard in the region. Furthermore, our company also owns and produces wines from Bairrada, Alentejo, Portugal and Brazil (where we produce). The world is our destination. Today, our brands, valued by world's leading critics, reach more than 45 countries in 5 different the continents. Global Wines is giving new steps forward, every day, towards international recognition. Speaking the wine language, we are building bridges between the small mountainous region of central Portugal and the rest of the world. Global Wines owns 5 wine tourism places, 3 of them with restaurants. We have received visitors from all over the world, to enjoy our wine and gastronomy, and we offer them an unique and perfect experience. Currently we’re producing wine from Dão, Douro, Lisbon, Bairrada, Alentejo and Brazil. Our wide range of brands includes: Cabriz, Vinha Maria, Casa de Santar and Paço dos Cunhas (Dão), Quinta do Encontro (Bairrada), Monte da Cal (Alentejo), Palestra and Xadrez (Douro), Cortelo and Vinha Maria (Lisbon) and Rio Sol (Brazil).
