About GLOVA - Global Vitiligo Atlas
The Global Vitiligo Atlas (GLOVA) is a ground-breaking initiative aiming to create and maintain a global epidemiology atlas and a global pharmacovigilance registry, through a comprehensive data repository, where all data is available in one place, across all countries. GLOVA is International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) initiative. GLOVA aims to advance our understanding of: 1: Epidemiology of vitiligo (such as information on how many people have vitiligo). Epidemiological studies also help investigating the natural history of vitiligo and identify environmental factors influencing disease onset or flare and its comorbidities. 2: Availability of care and effectiveness of various treatment modalities in real world. 3: Burden of vitiligo on its bearers including defining what is severity and flare up in vitiligo as well as quantifying stigma and difficulties in job and job access. GLOVA is strengthened by enhanced collaboration with our partner organisations and collaborative work with the World Health Organization (WHO).
