About Go Walkabout Travel Insurance
Go Walkabout was founded in Bexhill, East Sussex, in 1999, by Harold Lawrence - himself a keen traveller, who fully appreciated the value of affordable travel insurance that can be tailored to a traveller’s unique, individual plans. The company has expanded and moved to nearby St.Leonards since this time, but we still retain our values of treating all customers fairly and respectfully, and signposting appropriate cover, if we can’t help ourselves. We pride ourselves on providing comprehensive and great-value travel insurance for travellers of all ages and for extended travel of up to 2 years away from the UK. We recognise that travellers are all individuals and we always strive to be as helpful and informative as we can, and offer the flexibility to cover a wide variety of work and leisure plans, as well as offering peace of mind to many travellers who have a pre-existing medical condition. We can offer policies for most trips, but we specialise in providing cover for long term travel, working holidays (paid or voluntary), gap year students and backpackers as well as competitively-priced cover for family holidays, older travellers, and specialist one-way emigration cover. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Our FCA reference number is 580218. Our policies are underwritten by URV, (Union Reiseversicherung AG) , which is part of Germany’s largest banking group.
