About Gold Star Parents Retreat
Gold Star Parents Retreat was established for Texas Gold Star Parents by Sara Overal and Terry and Elisabeth Burgess. Terry and Beth are the Gold Star Parents of SSG Bryan A Burgess who was killed in action in Afghanistan in March of 2011. The retreat was designed to invite any parent of any enlisted son or daughter who gave their life in service to our country. There is no distinction given as to the cause of death, simply that a son or daughter has been lost. The retreats are all-inclusive except for travel to and from the retreat. We celebrate lives lived, we share stories, we share laughter, and we share tears.
