The Golden Apple Dinner Theatre is 3/4 thrust, 281 seat, horseshoe- shaped theatre with a main floor and two additional tiers. We are affiliated with Actor's Equity Association. Our dinner is served buffet style on the main floor and after dinner the buffet is cleared and the same space is occupied by our 704 square foot "Magic Carpet" stage which is floated forward on a cushion of air. The Golden Apple Dinner Theatre opened its doors on December 11, 1971 and is celebrating its 38th anniversary Season. We have produced more than 300 plays and musicals in that time. We have presented 5 original plays - one of which went to Broadway. We have also been active producing shows for other theatres around the country and the globe. Our plays and musicals have been seen all over the world including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Kansas City, St. Louis, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Windsor, Ontario, Singapore, Malaysia, Seoul, Hong Kong, and Taipei. Our signature entrees are carved prime roast of beef and roast loin of pork. Other hot entrees always include a succulent chicken concoction and a vegetarian dish of either pasta or other low-fat offering. More entrees include fresh vegetables and a starch, usually our popular garlic mashed potatoes… with gravy, of course. A salad bar of over 20 items and 3 desserts add another colorful array to our buffet. Our service bar offers your favorite mixed drinks, beer and wine. A fine selection of special home-made premium desserts are also available. Many of our wait staff have been with the Golden Apple family for 25 years or more. Our Chef, Frank Caldwell, is a well-known Sarasota culinary icon, having served award-winning, taste-tempting delights for over 40 years. We pride ourselves on our two mottoes: Always a Good Dinner, Always a Good Show! and Broadway on the Suncoast!
