Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies (formerly Goodwill Industries of the Conemaugh Valley, incorporated in 1962) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Johnstown, Pennsylvania serving the counties of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Huntingdon, Indiana, Somerset, and a portion of Westmoreland. You know the name Goodwill for our stores that sell clothing and merchandise generously donated by the community. But did you know that revenue generated by the sale of these donated goods supports our mission of empowering individuals and families with employment barriers to achieve their fullest potential in the community through work services? We provide education, training, and career services for people with disadvantages, such as welfare dependency, homelessness, lack of education, lack of work experience, and criminal backgrounds; and those with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. And because Goodwill is in the business of putting people to work, our own employees are vital to the important work that we do.
