About Gorman Law
Please note that Mr. Gorman will be practicing on a limited basis to serve as the city manager for Portland effective July 14, 2014. Gorman Law PLLC is a full service law firm concentrating on business, financial institutions, and family needs within Ionia County and the surrounding communities. Mr. S. Tutt Gorman is the owner and principal attorney of the firm. Prior to moving to Michigan with his family in September 2009, Mr. Gorman was dedicated to public service and had the privilege of serving the Commonwealth of Kentucky. In 2004, Mr. Gorman worked as counsel for the Chief Justice, Joseph Lambert and the Administrative Office of the Courts, practicing personnel and employment law. In December 2007, Mr. Gorman was appointed legal counsel for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services by Governor Ernie Fletcher, working in the area of healthcare & employment law. Upon his arrival in Michigan in 2009, Mr. Gorman accepted a position with Duff Chadwick & Associates, P.C., where in addition to practicing various areas of law, he acted as Assistant City Prosecutor for the City of Ionia. Mr. Gorman also serves as the Vice President for the Portland Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Gorman also serves on the board of directors for the Ionia Intermediate School District (ISD) representing the Portland community and also serves on the board of directors for Hospice of Lansing and Ionia Area Hospice. Mr. Gorman is the former City Attorney for Portland. Mr. Gorman and his wife, Erin, reside in Portland with their two children, Grace and Jonah and are members of the Portland United Methodist Church.
