The Velocity Payment System is an electronic payment system and service provided by Govolution by Deluxe. Velocity has been honed to meet the strict technical, financial and security standards of the U.S. Federal Government. Starting with payment processing, its modules enable a full spectrum of business activities including back-end reporting, data management and administrative tools that integrate with legacy accounting and cash management systems. Govolution began in 1998 as a unit of Bixler Inc., a pioneer in the development of on-line financial transaction technologies. In that year, the Department of the Treasury’s Financial Management Service commissioned Bixler to develop a pilot electronic payment system to support Internet-based credit card collections (ICCC). Following the successful rollout of the pilot program, the platform evolved into the federal government’s enterprise credit card e-payment platform used by over eighty federal departments and agencies. Govolution leveraged the success, experience and industry expertise gained in the federal government sector to expand into state and local governments and utilities. Our premier solution, the Velocity Payment System, is the product leader in the industry. To date, Govolution has deployed more than 1,000 e-government tax and non-tax payment applications for the public sector. In 2005, Govolution, Inc. was acquired by First American Payment Systems, LP. Govolution, LLC now operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of First American. First American Payment Systems, LP provides full-service credit card processing for approximately 140,000 merchants throughout the United States.
