GP & J Baker was founded in 1884 by two young entrepreneurial brothers, George Percival and James who went on to establish an inheritance full of passion and innovation. Now encompassing several uniquely individual brands; GP & J Baker, Baker Lifestyle, Mulberry Home, Threads, Kravet, Lee Jofa and Brunschwig & Fils each with its own distinctive style, the GP & J Baker group is perfectly positioned to meet the demands of any design project. Avid and discerning collectors of rare and iconic designs gathered over the years from their own adventurous travels, the Baker brothers continuously added to what has become one of the largest and most exciting privately owned textile archives in the world. Many of GP & J Baker’s prints are sourced and adapted from this archive, a number of which have been in production for fifty to a hundred years, each re-issue adding another layer to their considerable charm. More recently, they have been re-imagined as beautiful embroideries, woven fabrics and wallpapers. GP & J Baker is proud to have held The Royal Warrant from Her Majesty The Queen since 1982 providing fabrics and wallcoverings for Royal residences throughout the United Kingdom. With showrooms in London’s Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour as well as Paris, GP & J Baker’s declared philosophy is to lead the way in design excellence, creating beautiful products to meet its worldwide customers’ desire for comfortable, luxurious living.
