GPlusMedia has 25 years experience providing English services and information to foreigners in Japan. We have real-world experience in finding people jobs, assisting companies fill positions and helping foreign residents find housing, study Japanese and adjust to life in Japan. We launched the GaijinPot information portal in 1999 as an English-language resource that was lacking in the market for people living and working in Japan. The website was developed by and for foreigners — and it quickly drew a large, loyal and diverse following. It grew to comprise listings of jobs, apartments and personal classified ads. In the 2000s, GPlusMedia expanded its media and marketing operations with the acquisition of Japan Today, the country’s No. 1 English-language news and commentary site. The popularity of our online channels earned the attention of Japanese companies keen to reach the international community here in Japan. In 2015, GPlusMedia was acquired by Fujisankei Communications. In April 2022, GPlusMedia was acquired by Gakken Holdings Co., Ltd., a Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed publishing company. As part of GPlusMedia’s commitment to help foreigners with life in Japan, we recently started offering study-in-Japan courses and online learning as well as up-to-date travel information covering all of Japan on our GaijinPot platform.
