About Grace Children'S Academy

In 1986, inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy of exploration, discovery, and collaboration, our director’s goal was to set up a center in an underserved neighborhood where little ones could feel safe, thrive and excel beyond the stereotypes that had hindered so many young people in the community. Hundreds of children and 35 years later, GCA stands as a pillar of the community with game-changing, humanitarian, progressive graduates, who return frequently and attribute their success to their formative years at our school. We have created a space where our students value “the little things”. Our core values of social justice, integrity, and compassion for others inspire our young ones to have a strong sense of self, enabling them to build the necessary social and emotional skills to create whole human beings and see themselves as global citizens. Our approach is to first understand “who” each child is and through a unique blend of of arts and crafts, scientific exploration, cultural immersion, music, and play, create a fun yet definitive, personalized curriculum that plays to the individual strengths, interests, emotional intelligence and necessary growth areas of each child. It takes a village to do this work. Our highly trained staff are not simply “teachers”, they take on the role of guides that in collaboration with parents, encourage our young ones to think independently, measure their “own” successes, value themselves and see the world and everything in it as extensions of themselves. We keep you abreast of your child’s progress through continuous, ongoing observation and documentation.
