Website: https://www.graduateprepas.com/ Mission Statement: The Graduate Affiliation of Pre-Physician Associates (GAPPA) was established in 2023 by aspiring Pre-Physician Assistant/Associate (PA) students. Our mission is to inform and educate the student population who are forging their path towards the Physician Assistant occupation. We strive to provide opportunities for our members to explore the profession, network with PAs, and assist under-medically served communities, all while building supporting relationships amongst themselves as future healthcare professionals. GAPPA ultimately aims to prepare our members for the beginning of their PA careers. Values: Education Exploration Empowerment Goals: 1. Form a constructive and supportive community for Pre-Physician Assistants in California. 2. Increase accessibility to pre-pa resources 3. Explore the Physician Assistant profession by accumulating knowledge regarding PA schools in California. 4. Provide volunteering opportunities to assist underserved communities: Father Joe's Village, American Red Cross Donation Center, San Diego Food Bank, Other Food/Donation Drives 5. Promote medical mission trips (both within and outside the United States) to provide deeper understanding and exposure to serving communities in global settings. 6. Offer mentorship programs for undergraduate and graduated students to learn and grow with each other. 7. Host workshops for members to obtain certification regarding professional healthcare skills such as CPR and BLS 8. Advertise trustworthy resources for members to obtain certification and/or licensure in Medical Assisting, CNA, EMT, etc...
