AJ Akoto started this company out of frustration and disappointment because he graduated with no family and friends behind him. He’s a native of Ghana and lived in the United States on his own as he was in school striving to create a better life for himself. When it came to graduation time, his parents couldn't afford to come to this country to see him graduate. A.J. wasn't aware that there were so many segmented and affiliated groups of people, and felt like an outsider instead of being able to fully celebrate his accomplishments. As a result, he decided to never let another student feel like he felt again.
