About Grafted Kitchen
Grafted Kitchen is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit culinary and hospitality training program dedicated to empowering individuals aged 15-21 who face significant challenges. Our mission is to provide the tools, education, and support needed for participants to achieve self-sufficiency. Through compassion, comprehensive training, and wrap-around services, we aim to restore dignity, equip participants with essential skills, and inspire them to dream boldly as they forge pathways to meaningful employment or secondary education. Our 6 week to 6 month programs blend hands-on culinary and hospitality training with life skills workshops and behavioral health support. Participants rotate through various roles in both the back and front of the house, mastering skills like culinary techniques, inventory management, hosting, serving, and customer service. This holistic approach ensures they develop both technical expertise and the interpersonal skills required for success in the workforce. Behavioral health support and life skills are integral components of our curriculum. Weekly workshops address emotional well-being, teamwork, and conflict resolution while fostering resilience and self-confidence. Participants also gain practical knowledge in financial literacy, time management, and career planning. By addressing both personal and professional growth, we help bridge gaps that might otherwise hinder success. Throughout the program, participants complete practical and written assessments to measure their progress, ensuring they are prepared for real-world challenges. Upon graduation, they receive a program certification, a job recommendation letter, and assistance with job placement or secondary education applications.
