1982年、カリフォルニアの小さなガレージで産声をあげる。アメリカ・カリフォルニア州中部に位置するヨセミテ国立公園。ロッククライマーの聖地である、このヨセミテで生まれたのが、『GRAMICCI』である。 1970年代、アメリカで “ストーンマスター” と呼ばれ、ヨセミテロッククライミングをリードしてきた一人のロッククライマー、マイク・グラハム氏が、当時のクライミングウェアにはなかった、180度自然な開脚を可能にした「ガゼットクロッチ」や片手で調整できる「ウェビングベルト」など画期的なディテールを開発。1982年、これら独自の手法と機能を盛り込んだ『GRAMICCI』のクライミングパンツはカリフォルニアの小さなガレージでその産声を上げた。『GRAMICCI』の考案したデザイン、そして数多くのディテールは、クライミングパンツにおけるひとつの完成形であり、多くのブランドがこのディテールを取り入れている。
