About Grand Dames of Aviation

We Celebrate, Educate, and Inspire Women to Believe, Achieve, and Succeed in Aviation. Accomplished and successful women in the aviation industry are needed now more than ever. Our mission is to help recruit and retain more women to meet the industry’s fight crew and leadership needs for viability and success. Our objective is in direct alignment with the FAA Women in Aviation Advisory Board report that was submitted to Congress in March of 2022. The FAA WIAAB included data and conclusions on why women represent less than 5% of all career pilots in aviation and why it is critical to cultivate the talent, innovation, and leadership of women. The Grand Dames of Aviation’s initiatives are specifically tailored to meet these important goals. We offer several scholarships for women in aviation. We are pilot-founded and pilot-focused. However we also promote other STEM careers in aviation as well as aviation management and leadership positions for women. We offer mentorship and an Aviation Leadership Networking Program for women.
