About GRANTED
Granted is a nonprofit organization that grants Wishes to children ages 3 - 18 who live in Southern IN, Western KY, and Southeast IL who have a life-threatening or terminal condition. Based in Evansville, Indiana, Granted has been granting Wishes since 1985! A Wish gives children time away from hospitals and treatments. It gives children and their families something to plan and look forward to through times of uncertainty and often financial as well as emotional strain. Wishes allow the family to put the burden of their child's illness on hold as they have fun and create everlasting memories. From a Disney World trip, to hero visits, to shopping sprees or that very special item, each Granted Wish is as unique as the children who request them. A Granted Wish is more than just a nice gift, and its reach extends far beyond a single event, or a moment in time. Although Wishes can be life changing (or saving), what makes Granted unique is that they recognize when the Wish is complete, the child is still sick and/or dying, and the family is still struggling on many levels. Granted continues to serve families long after through a series of Beyond The Wish benefits that include support groups, inclusive events throughout the year, and resources in the family's times of crisis.
