About Graphite Arts Center

Graphite Arts Center supports artists by providing affordable studio space, communal work areas, and public exhibition opportunities that help sustain creative careers. We currently support 11 studio artists and 18 locker artists, fostering collaboration and artistic growth through accessible workspaces. Our open-call gallery exhibitions feature work by over 150 artists annually, offering exposure through monthly Art Walks and year-end sales events. Graphite draws more than 10,000 visitors each year through events like the Edmonds Artist Studio Tour, Jazz Walk, Wine Walk, and regular gallery hours—generating foot traffic for local businesses and contributing to the local economy. In 2024, Graphite facilitated $24,800 in art sales for both resident and guest artists. Graphite also partners annually with Sketcher Fest, a national three-day event celebrating travel sketchbooks, serving as the event hub, taking place this year on July 19 - 20. As the first festival of its kind in North America, Sketcher Fest brings together urban sketchers, artists, vendors, and the public for workshops, exhibitions, and sketching activities in downtown Edmonds. The event combines the learning atmosphere of Urban Sketchers Symposia with the festive spirit of France’s Carnet de Voyage, celebrating art, travel, and visual storytelling.
