GCLL was established in 2000 as an Industrial and Provident Society with charitable objectives. It has since been hugely successful with its operation of publicly owned leisure centres under partnership contracts. . GCLL has also provided professional consultancy services with the setting up of new leisure trusts, business recovery support and advising on the transfer of council run leisure services to existing leisure operators.
