About Great British Railways Transition Team (GBRTT)
The work achieved at GBRTT made the case for reform, demonstrated the potential to work in a more joined-up way before Great British Railways is fully realised, and laid the foundations for an integrated railway in the future. This has been achieved through working with a whole-industry mindset in close collaboration with our partners including in the Department for Transport, Network Rail and Rail Delivery Group. GBRTT ceased to exist as an Arm’s Length Body on 1 April 2025. However, there are important activities and programmes that need to continue, which are being carried out by three core teams - Customer & Revenue Growth, Industry Finance, and Fares Ticketing & Retail - alongside the work of the partnerships and projects teams. These teams will work across the whole industry. For the latest information about rail reform and how we are integrating as an industry, please visit the websites of the Department for Transport, DfT Operator and Network Rail.
