About Great Lakes Women's Business Council
Great Lakes Women's Business Council is a Michigan-based nonprofit organization that is committed to empowering small businesses economically through business development training, vendor certification, business-to-business networking, and access to capital funding assistance programs. We provide practical business tools and remove barriers that hinder the development of successful, sustainable businesses. Great Lakes WBC represents more than 1,500 WBENC-certified women's business enterprises generating approximately $11.6 billion in annual revenue and employing 41,500 U.S. workers, as well as 70+ corporate partners in a diverse range of industry sectors. We have provided $5.5 million in loans to small business owners which created 1,800 jobs. Through the Michigan Women's Marketplace, we have trained more than 15,000 business owners and entrepreneurs. Our work strengthens the community by building partnerships and leveraging resources that increase business growth opportunities.
