About Greater Rochester Afterschool & Summer Alliance (GRASA)
The Greater Rochester Afterschool & Summer Alliance (GRASA), an initiative of Rochester Area Community Foundation, supports and advocates for expanding the quality and quantity of, and access to, out-of-school time opportunities for children ages 5 to 18 throughout the Greater Rochester area. Out-of-school time (OST) consists of programs that happen outside of the classroom, before and after school, on weekends and during the summer. These programs can be located in school buildings or community settings, and they can be managed or operated by schools, community organizations (faith-based and sports), parks, camps, and municipalities. They serve children and youth in grades K-12. Our goal is to build a community of high-quality learning opportunities that all children can access to dream, explore and discover beyond formal school hours in safe, engaging settings within and across their neighborhoods. GRASA is a member of: New York State Network for Youth Success and Every Hour Counts.
