Green Phoenix was founded on a simple premise: take a good thing, and make it better. As longtime coworkers at a small marketing firm, we’d formed a tight-knit team based on mutual respect, in which each of our individual talents was recognized and everyone had a vital role to play in making our projects successful. And we liked each other — our friendship enabling us to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment. Basically, we had a good thing going. Opportunity knocked when our boss suddenly closed the business without warning. For one dreadful minute we steeled ourselves to say goodbye to the team as we set off on our own. In a flash of insight, however, it became obvious that our partnership didn’t need to end; we could still do what we did best, but now even better. The story wasn’t over — it was just beginning.
